Tips for Making Iced Coffee
We nearly all agree that coffee is a great drink for many moments of the day. But, it is also known that a cup of hot coffee is not really the best choice when the heat of summer comes. How can you get the great coffee flavor (and caffeine!) without the heat? Iced coffee!
Iced coffees are fantastic for refreshing and re-energizing yourself during the hot period of summer. You can find good iced coffee at coffee shops and cafes. But when it comes to getting an iced coffee at home, some of you may have problems. In this article, I will offer you some of my tips to help you make an iced coffee at home, without breaking a sweat!
First, you need to have some ice. How can you have iced coffee without the ice component? You actually have options: you can either freeze water traditionally (such as with ice cube trays), or you can freeze several brews of coffee instead of water in your ice cube trays. The latter option, when combined with the freshly brewed coffee (discussed next), will not water the drink down like water ice can do.
Secondly, you must brew the coffee. You can simply brew your preferred coffee variety. You can use a regular drip brewer, instant coffee or the a single serve pot such as a Keurig, which makes a single cup of coffee.
Why Coffee Tastes So Good
Ever wonder why a person just has to have that first cup of coffee in the morning? Do they ask themselves ridiculous questions trying to rationalize the enjoyment and the excitement of that first cup. Questions like, am I addicted to the caffeine or the gourmet coffee flavor? Has the brain gone out the window? Is it habit, or just something a person does before letting the family pet out in the morning. Does it really matter if one has this wonderful starting fluid every day? Will one die without it? Could one possibly strangle the children during the frenzy of getting ready for school if they don’t have that first cup? Are we getting every possible antioxidant we can stuff in for the day in one cup? If there is any left over, would the plants like a buzz today? Or, how can the left over coffee be used in a facial? That’s silly, there won’t be any left over! Would decaf be best for me this morning? That’s silly, we’re addicted to the caffeine! Which flavor this morning? Coffee or coffee? Pointless questions like these so early in the morning can fuzzy up the entire day!
Serious pondering so early in the morning can make a person crazier than if they hadn’t had their morning coffee. Hold on, Let’s get another cup. Alright, now with the second cup, it’s easier to think more rationally. Let’s go over the main event and all that leads up to making a sane decision so early in the morning. There are four basic steps to follow each morning in the coffee ritual and a daily conclusion. The evaluation is vital.
