How to Save Money By Cooking in Advance!

It came out of nowhere. I was feeling fine. I had already exercised, worked, gone to the grocery store and cleaned the house. All of the sudden, my throat started aching. Soon I felt horrible.

Luckily, I had already prepared breakfast for the week, lunch for the week, and two dinners. As it turned out, I had caught my husband’s upper respiratory infection. I was going to be down for a few days. If I had not prepared these meals in advance, I might have found myself eating fast food. This would have cost me extra money and provided me no nutritional value.

Maybe this has happened to you before. You have intended to have a healthy week. You went to the grocery store and purchased your healthy meals. Then life happened. You or your family got busy or sick. The meals didn’t happen. Preparing these meals in advance will save you time. money, and the temptation to “grab a quick bite out”. Here are some tips on how to plan ahead.

Thanksgiving Dinner – Oh How I Love Thee!

Thanksgiving dinner to me, is the most important meal of the year! I look forward to this coveted meal starting from about Halloween on. I lovingly start planning my menus, watching cooking shows, and looking online for recipe inspirations. This year I decided to make my Thanksgiving dinner very special I will make everything from scratch, even the stuffing!

I plan to make just a few dishes and tasty sides, along with a small organic turkey, but I also plan to put a gourmet spin on each of them. To start with I’m going to make a gourmet appetizer tray with just a couple offerings. First will be Bacon, Bourbon Tarts with a Bourbon Whipped Cream. I found this Brian Boitano recipe online and it is heaven! How can someone be so good at two things? Cooking and ice skating! Next will be the appetizer of Mini Beef Wellington. This is a Five Ingredient Fix recipe I have made on numerous occasions. Every time I make them the crowd goes wild and with only five ingredients or less they are a must for my Thanksgiving dinner!
